|Through Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funding Madera County Behavioral Health Services (BHS), in conjunction with the Housing Authority of the City of Madera, is pleased to announce we are accepting applications for permanent supportive housing from individuals meeting eligibility criteria.|
BHS will assess interested applicants for homelessness or at-risk of homelessness as well as for mental health disability. Those who are MHSA Housing Program eligible and are able to provide the documents listed above will be certified and a verification of homelessness or at-risk homelessness and mental health disability will be documented. Once certified, BHS staff will asssist individuals with all aspects of the application process, including help with all additional required documentation (background checks, credit checks, etc.). ***Applications will NOT be accepted without the above listed documents! Certified Applicants that complete the application process will be placed on a list and housing awarded in the order their complete applications were received.
BHS has housing available in Madera and Chowchilla and will be accepting applications on a continuous basis. If you are interested in this shared housing opportunity and feel you may meet the eligibility criteria, please pick up an application from the Receptionist at the Chowchilla Recovery Center (CRC), 215 S. 4th Street in Chowchilla, BHS 7th Street, 209 E, 7th Street in Madera or the Oakhurst Counseling Center (OCC), 49774 Road 426, Ste. Completed, signed applications with documentation must be returned in person to one of the three clinics.
